Alyx & Everhett are both life long "dog people". Alyx began training professionally in their early twenties. Around the same time Everhett began his career as a dog groomer. While Alyx was losing patience with the accepted standard of care for dogs in boarding facilities, Everhett had begun managing a large name facility and was encountering all the issues Alyx had come to despise.

When the pair were introduced in 2023 it was love at first sight. Alyx's training background and go-get'er personality perfectly compliment Everhett's skilled grooming and relaxed approach. The pair continue to provide impeccable care for dogs across the greater Saint Louis area and have formed a 501c3 nonprofit, The Clever Dog Scholarship Program, with the mission of providing a pre-surrender resource to those dealing with life changing circumstances. The scholarship works with other nonprofits as well as for profit professionals to provide the needed care to keep dogs with their families and out of shelters.

When the company began to expand in the early 2020's, the pair made the decision to scale back and remain intentionally small so as to continue to provide the personalized care they feel each dog deserves.

While many companies seek to grow larger Alyx & Everhett seek to educate and inform. Alyx is an active public speaker and provides consultation and training services to other pet focused companies as “Hound and Home” to the end of achieving their lifelong goal of raising the expected standard of care for pets everywhere.
